A Tempo Percussion

A TEMPO PERCUSSION is a Peruvian company dedicated to the design and manufacturing of Percussion Instruments, mainly of wood.

The aim of A TEMPO PERCUSSION is to offer the musician different sounds, shades and colors that can enrich the music it produces, as well as stimulate their creativity.

In 1997, Alexis Castaneda, economist, luthier and Peruvian musician, starts making Peruvian Cajons, with advice from the great “Cajoneador” Eusebio Sirio "Pititi" one of the greatest exponents of the Peruvian Cajon. Being the third generation of Carpenters in the Castaneda family, Alexis uses the knowledge gained in the woodworking for the design and manufacturing of the Peruvian Cajons.

In 1999 he starts selling its instruments under the brand A TEMPO MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, a name that soon would change to A TEMPO PERCUSSION.

Through the years, and attending every comment percussionists, A TEMPO was perfecting the Peruvian Cajons, looking for ways to make it easier to play, both for professionals and for those who are just starting in this instrument.

Later, dissatisfied with this, A TEMPO raided Lap Joint technique of woodworking with different colors, developing creative designs, making each instrument an Artwork.

Currently, with more than 26,000 instruments sold worldwide, A TEMPO PERCUSSION remains committed to the tireless pursuit of new sounds and effects that make it rich and entertaining work of percussionist, and strives to fulfill this responsibility with the music and musicians but mainly with God who is the creator of all the sounds of this world.
