These screws are longer than many bass pickup screws. Be sure to pre-drill with a 5/64" straight bit or a 7/64" tapered bit. In hard wood, you can strip out the head of any screw if you don’t pre-drill. I've made the mistake myself, it wasn’t the screw's fault. The extra length provides a very solid connection and makes it very unlikely to strip the body screw hole.
